Frequently asked questions

The simple answer? We match exceptional freelance marketers with ambitious brands. But behind the scenes, we’re strategizing with clients to bring specialists on for upcoming projects and business challenges, creating custom teams to execute campaign briefs, cooking up new ways to help Rosies level-up their skills, and so much more.

“Rosie” (or “Brosie”) is our term of endearment for the talented marketing freelancers in our community.

We Are Rosie partners with Fortune 500 brands and other fast-growing companies that actually get it and know that great marketing comes from putting people first.

Our community is made of 35,000+ creative, advertising, growth, and media professionals who are redefining the future of work. They know their best work comes when they’re the ones setting the terms, not the other way around. Our Rosies are mid-, senior-, and executive-level freelancers of every specialty and industry sector, from UX designers to copywriters to developers to social intelligence experts. The list of Rosie skillsets is always evolving as the marketing industry changes (hello, AI), but you can find a mostly-complete rollcall of Rosie specialties here.

Not at all! We’re open to marketing professionals of every gender and identity. Fun backstory: Our founder Stephanie Nadi Olson named the company after her daughter, Margot Rose—a little reminder that we’re building something better for the next generation of marketers. That’s why we call everyone Rosies. You’re all part of the family (and not in the toxic workplace way)!

It really comes down to our core method for marketing magic: flexibility, talent, and casting. You can scale your engagements with us when you need without retainer fees or subscriptions tying you down. We also handpick each Rosie to fit the skills and industry experience you need—so they can dive into your project before the ink dries.

And what drives us to keep our standards and quality of work so high? Our values. This includes treating people like people—something that gets lost in the mix with traditional agencies and large-scale freelance platforms like Fiverr and Upwork. We’re your partner in marketing strategy and a connector for the Rosies in our community.

ASAP! We’ll provide a clear timeline and support every step of the way. Rest easy knowing that our average time from brief to kickoff is 14 days.

You bet—we know exactly who you need. We’ll help you strategize and define your project scope so you get the skills you need, when and how you need them. That’s kind of our thing.

We tailor every project to your specific needs and goals, so we don’t have a set rate.

The good news? You only pay for hours used and work completed—no retainers or subscriptions here. We lay it all out, with clear, upfront pricing. You don’t ever have to worry about committing to something before you know what the exact agreement is.

We have built-in compliance, which means we take care of all the contracts and legalities: proper classification, payroll, tax handling, legal protection—the works.

It’s not about filling roles to get the job done. We handpick each Rosie for each project to ensure a connection on both sides. We stick with you every step of the way, from resume reviews to offer celebrations. We wouldn’t be who we are without advocating for both you and the client.

Sure is! You can sign up here.

Our clients have a variety of needs. Sometimes they call us for a part-time, fractional marketer for a one-month creative sprint. Other times they might need a 40-hour-a-week role for 12 or 18 months. In any case, we’re always straight up about what the role entails, so you can make the career moves you actually want.

Joining the Rosies is easy! Sign up here, then fill out your profile with your experience, skills, ideal work setup (pay, remote vs in person, etc.), and start browsing open opportunities.

It’s not just about work opportunities. Get access to virtual training and workshops as well as our Slack community to connect and uplevel with other freelance marketers.

Our projects range from executive leadership opportunities like interim and fractional CMOs down to individual contributor roles, which usually require 5+ years of experience. We don’t offer entry-level work, but if you’re just starting out in your marketing career, you can still become a Rosie for special events, networking, and professional development support.

Our opportunities are available to members of our community, so if you’d like to get access to view and apply for projects, all you have to do is become a Rosie.

Being a Rosie comes with access to free events, networking opportunities, and career development support. And depending on the project, you may be eligible for medical and dental insurance, 401k, and an annual “Rosie Refresh” stipend.
